Born out of our 'You Can't Put Us Down' Book Club, this 'Minding Our Media' expands our discussion beyond the borders of a book and into multiple forms of media that reflect all the intersections of the disabled experience.

 

This program is mostly virtual but will have select dates where you will have the option to meet with us in person. Those dates will be announced by email and will be published on our calendar at  DetroitDisabilityPower.org/Events.

What to expect from Minding Our Media:
 

• A space that prioritizes the involvement and leadership of people with disabilities, and also fully welcomes caregivers and non-disabled allies.
   

• Lively discussion and an invitation to participate in every aspect of the media club planning, from selecting media to facilitating the dialogue.
   

• A focus on many forms of media. 
   

• This media club will meet virtually on Zoom with special in-person meetings being announced in our eBlast, on social media, and on our events calendar.
