“Advocates for disabled Detroiters say they’re frustrated with the delay for DDOT Now. ‘Every day without same-day service is another day disabled Detroiters bear the burden of scheduling out our daily activities in advance,’ said Kaci Pellar, policy manager for Detroit Disability Power.

Pellar said she’s looking forward to the day when disabled Detroiters can use the city’s transit spontaneously to do things like go to urgent care, pick up an extra work shift or take their kids to the park ‘as nondisabled Detroiters do every day.’”
