As we witness the decision making process of who receives COVID-19 vaccinations when, we are not seeing an acceptable prioritization for people with disabilities. 11 months ago, we learned that people with disabilities were at a greater risk of contracting the coronavirus. Since then, we’ve learned that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are three times more likely to die from COVID-19, while people with Down Syndrome are 10 times more likely, than other people who’ve been diagnosed. Elected officials must take action to protect the disability community.
Please click here to send a letter to Governor Whitmer and Mayor Duggan to urge them to ensure pre-Spring vaccinations for people with disabilities. Thank you for your efforts!
In this together,
The DDP Team
